The Spank Spoon stem is made by forging, not machining, which makes it very strong. The 350 version has a 35mm clamp, but there’s also a 31.8mm one called the 318. Spank didn’t make the bar clamp without a gap, so there’s a space at the top of the faceplate, and you have to tighten all four bolts evenly. The stack height is low, and there’s no rise, so it’s good if your bike’s head tube is tall and you can’t lower the bars enough. There are only a few lengths available, but they’re the most popular ones, and Spank offers lots of colors! It’s not as perfect as the Race Face Turbine, but it’s cheaper.

It has bolts with T25 heads facing each other, and the faceplate doesn’t have any gaps, making it easy to tighten the bolts without overdoing it. The clamp is wide and the edges are rounded, so you won’t hit your knee when standing up. It’s for 35mm bars and a good choice if you want a tighter cockpit without spending too much. A really good stem for a really good price.

We like the smooth, rounded edges and simple design, so it’s a good upgrade even if you don’t have a Nukeproof frame.
